You pass before us, and we remain distracted and hurried. We hear your invitation, but we hesitate to draw near and choose instead to remain on the shore. Forgive us when we fail to recognize your presence in the simple and the ordinary. Teach us to see, give us the courage to draw near, and the grace to remain with you. Amen.
