*CALL TO WORSHIP
Calling Song: “Seek Ye First”  UMH #405

Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Allelu, alleluia!

Ask, and it shall be given unto you;
seek and ye shall find;
knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
Allelu, alleluia!

Responsive Reading From Psalm 130
Leader: Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice~
People: Let you ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!
Leader: If you, O Lord, kept a record of iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
People: But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.
Leader: I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope;
All: My soul waits for the Lord.

Unison Invocation
Loving God,
open our ears to hear your word and draw us closer to you.
We confess our need to be here
and hold to the promise that Jesus will somehow be here as well.
We pray in his name. Amen.

Hymn “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” UMH #400
Come Thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by Thy  help I'm come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, oh take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above

Hallelujah! I have found it,
the full cleansing I had craved
And to all the world I'll sound it;
They too may be wholly saved.
I am sealed by Thy sweet Spirit,
Prone no longer now to roam;
And Thy voice, I'll humbly hear it,
For Thy presence is my home.

Welcome and Announcements

Welcoming the Light of Christ and inviting the neighborhood to worship

CALL TO WORSHIP
The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Calling Hymn    “Open Our Eyes”    TFWS #2086

Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus,
to reach out and touch him, and say that we love him.
Open our ears, Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord,  we want to see Jesus.

Unison Invocation
O God our Father,
who sent your Son to be King of kings and Lord of lords;
we pray that all the kingdoms of this world may become His kingdom
and learn from him the way to live as Your children.
In His name we pray. Amen.

Communion Service (continued)
Our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another.

Let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Prayer of Confession and Pardon
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you
with our whole heart.
Our faith has been tested and we have stumbled.
Our feet have strayed from the path of Christ
and we have wandered from you.
We have put our faith in the loud voices of this world,
ignoring your whispers.
Forgive us, we pray.
We do want to follow Jesus, the Christ, in whose name we pray.
Amen.

Hear the good news;
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. That proves God’s love for us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Thanks be to God!

Bread and Cup
Please come forward to receive the bread and the cup. Take them with you to the building entrance. We will stand in a circle and partake together.

Please pray:
Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery
in which “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
Strengthen us in mind, body and soul for the days ahead.
May your Spirit fill us as we live and pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Closing Song    “Go Tell It On The Mountain”   UMH #251
Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere;
go, tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born.

Benediction
May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you
wherever he may send you.
May he guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May he bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders he has shown you.
May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.

CALL TO WORSHIP
Calling Song:  The Word is a Lamp  UMH 601

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
When I feel afraid, think I’ve lost my way,
still you’re there right beside me,
and nothing will I fear as long as you are near.
Please be near me to the end.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Now I will not forget your love for me and yet
my heart forever is wandering.
Jesus, be my guide and hold me to your side,
and I will love you to the end.

RESPONSIVE READING:  from Psalm 119
