*CALL TO WORSHIP
Calling Song “Seek Ye First”  UMH #405

Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and his righteousness,
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Allelu, alleluia!

Ask, and it shall be given unto you;
seek and ye shall find;
knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
Allelu, alleluia!

Responsive Reading - Psalm 111:1-4 and 10 (NLT)

Leader: Praise the Lord! I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his people.
People: How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them.
Leader: Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails.
People: Who can forget the wonders he performs? How gracious and merciful is our Lord!
All: Praise his name forever!

Unison Invocation
O God, the wonder of it all is that we are here at all, in this specific place and time, living these distinctive lives on this unique planet. The wonder of it all is that we are not lost in the stars, that you move in our very real lives, challenging us with friends and adversaries, stirring us with stories, music and prayers that bind us to one another and You. We come to You in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Hymn  “I Am Thine, O Lord” UMH #419
I am thine, O Lord,
I have heard they voice,
and it told thy love to me;
but I long to rise
in the arms of faith
and be closer drawn to thee.

Chorus
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed, Lord,
to the cross where thou has died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
to thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now
to thy service, Lord,
by the power of grace divine;
let my soul look up
with a steadfast hope,
and my will be lost in thine.
(Repeat Chorus)

O the pure delight
of a single hour
that before thy throne I spend,
when I kneel in prayer,
and with thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend.
(Repeat Chorus)

There are depths of love
that I can not know
till I cross the narrow sea;
there are heights of joy
that I may not reach
till I rest in peace with thee.
(Repeat Chorus)

Old Testament Reading - Proverbs 9:7-12
The Psalm Reading - Psalm 34:1-7

God’s Word for God’s People. Thanks be to God!

Prayer Song “ Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying” TFWS #2193
Lord, listen to your children praying,
Lord, send your Sprit in this place;
Lord, listen to your children praying,
send us love, send us power, send us grace.

Congregational Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

Message   “Be Careful How You Live”    Ephesians 5:15-21

Postlude
(Please be seated)
Please exit through the front doors, following the postlude, where we will continue the service on the front lawn.

Closing Song “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” TFWS #2129
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus – no turning back, no turning back.

The world behind me, the cross before me.
The world behind me, the cross before me.
The world behind me, the cross before me - no turning back, no turning back.

Though none go with me, still I will follow,
Though none go with me, still I will follow,
Though none go with me, still I will follow - no turning back, no turning back.

Unison Benediction
May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you
wherever he may send you.
May he guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May he bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders he has shown you.
May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.

Thank you for Worshiping with us today!
