June 12, 2022 Prelude Welcome The lighting of the candles and welcoming the neighborhood to worship. Interlude Call to Worship *Calling Song “How Majestic is Your Name” TFWS #2022 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. O Lord, we praise your name. O Lord, we magnify your name: Prince of Peace, mighty God; O Lord God Almighty. Responsive Reading from Psalm 8 Leader: Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. People: When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars, which you have put in place, what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Leader: You have made them a little lower than yourself and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; People: You put everything under their feet: flocks and herds, the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. All: Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Unison Invocation Heavenly Father please remind us this morning of your majesty, the creation, and your amazing grace. Forgive us for the times this week when we have been distracted and overwhelmed by reports of violence and injustice. Use this time to return us to people who see beauty and love in this scarred world. Help us sense the incredible scope of your concern and care that is so profoundly shown in Jesus, through whom we pray. Amen. Hymn of Petition “Shine, Jesus, Shine” TFWS #2173 Refrain: Shine Jesus shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory, blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire; flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy, send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light. Lord, the light of your love is shining in the midst of the darkness shining; Jesus, Light of the World, shine upon us, set us free by the truth you now bring us. Shine on me, shine on me. Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Prayers of the People Young People’s Moment Message “Teach Us To Pray” Luke 11:1-4 Hymn “ The Lord’s Prayer” Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive them that sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
