Responsive Reading from Psalm 16 Leader: I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” People: I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Leader: Therefore, my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices. All: You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence. Unison Invocation Heavenly Father, we praise you for this congregation’s oh-so-human witness to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We praise you for the halting yet certain way we have been worn into a measure of holiness and grace by our prayers and tears, songs and laughter, celebrations and sorrows, disputes and reconciliations. We praise you that when we gather together in your name, you are here to disturb and renew us. In your graceful company we walk on and confidently pray in Jesus’ name. Amen. Hymn “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah” UMH #127 (Verses 1, 3) Guide me, O my great Redeemer, pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but you are mighty; hold me with your powerful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me now and evermore, feed me now and evermore. When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside. Death of death, and hell's Destruction, land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever sing to you, I will ever sing to you. Old Testament Reading 1 Samuel 2: 1-10 New Testament Reading Hebrews 10: 19-25 God’s Word for God’s People. Thanks be to God! Offertory with Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Prayer Hymn “I am Thine O Lord” UMH #419 (verses 1, 3) I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith, And be closer drawn to Thee. (Chorus) Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, To the cross where Thou hast died; Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, To Thy precious, bleeding side. O the pure delight of a single hour That before Thy throne I spend, When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God, I commune as friend with friend! (Chorus) Prayers of the People with the Lord’s Prayer Message “Do Not Be Alarmed” Mark 13:1-18 Commitment Hymn “My Hope Is Built” UMH #368 ( Verses 1, 2) My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. Refrain: On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand. When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace. In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. (Refrain) Unison Benediction May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you wherever he may send you. May he guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm. May he bring you home rejoicing at the wonders he has shown you. May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors. Postlude Thank you for Worshiping with us today! (CCLI License #1552544)

9/21/21 9:00 a.m. So disappointed the sermon for 9/14 was apparently not recorded. Vernita and I will be listening to the sermon posted from The Cathedral of the Rockies once again.
